Lou is a life-long environmentalist who has worked in government, civil society, academia and the private sector to advance laws, policies and practices that promote care for the Earth and her people. He discovered the dharma as part of his search for balance and support in the face of the difficult emotions that arise as we dedicate ourselves to healing the world and promoting social change. For over a decade, Lou led the climate change & energy programs for World Wildlife Fund. He now splits his time between the Environmental Law Institute, where he is a visiting scholar, and One Earth Sangha, a virtual dharma center and community he helped create which is focused on resiliency in the face of climate crisis. His emerging teaching focuses on supporting activists and others on the front lines of climate and social movements.
